Welcome
I would like to welcome you to Memorare.com. This site contains elements which led to my conversion to the Catholic Faith, but moreso the treasures of doctrine, traditions, and heritage which I have found through ongoing study (in the spirit of Saint Helena). The site is in honor of and consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The name of the site is taken from the Memorare prayer, a traditional Catholic devotion.

Beginning on December 27, 1673, the Lord Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in a convent in Paray-le-Monial, France. He urged devotion to His Sacred Heart, a symbol of his humanity and great spiritual love for mankind. Emphasizing dedication of each day to the Sacred Heart, nine first Friday's and a weekly Holy Hour (all in reparation of sin and salvation of souls), is a simple but powerful way every Christian can obey the Lord.

In December, 1531, the Virgin Mary appeared to Indian convert Don Diego and asked that a church be built in her honor. An incredulous Bishop received Castillian Roses in the Mexican winter and a miraculous image on Don Diego's tilma as a confirmation of the reality of the apparition, a image that has inexplicably remained intact to the present day. The purpose? Evangelization of the pagans of the New World. Memorare.com also shares a vision of what Pope John Paul II has called the 'New Evangelism.'

In 1214, St. Dominic had been in prayer and penance for three straight days seeking an effective way to fight the growing Albigensian heresy. The Virgin Mary appeared to him and gave him the Rosary. This marked the decline of the heresy and the rise of the Rosary as the most effective and powerful prayer in the history of Christianity. Pictured with St. Dominic (clockwise from upper left) are enthusiastic promoters of the devotion: Pope Pius V, Blessed Alan de la Roche, Pope Leo XIII and St. Louis de Montfort. Memorare.com is an enthusiastic promoter of the Rosary and the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary.

From May to October, 1917, the Virgin Mary appeared to three shephard children in Fatima, Portugal. She asked that the rosary by prayed daily for peace in the world, for the conversion of Russia, and for salvation of souls. She also encouraged acts of reparation for sin. The children faithfully carried these out, showing that age is not a barrier to obedience to God. Jacinta and Franciso Marto will be canonized saints by Pope John Paul II on May 13, 2000.

On November 27, 1830 in a Paris convent, St. Catherine Laboure received specific instructions on the design of a medal that was to be associated with so many supernatural events that it became known as the Miraculous Medal. The rays which the Saint saw streaming from rings on Mary's fingers represented the grace available to those who ask for her help. This site encourages knowledge of and devotion to the Mother of God.

Mary, Help of Christians, was uniquely joined in a prophecy about our times in a vision of St. John Bosco, a patron saint of Memorare.com. More indepth information on this is available here.
