Lady of the Window Pane Absam, Austria, 1979 Miraculous origin, appearing in a window pane.
Eastern Europe
Irish Madonna Gyor, Hungary, 1697 Painting wept blood and tears over the plight of the Irish on St. Patrick's Day (where the statue originated).
Lady of Dawn Vilnius, Lithuania, @1590 Preservation from destruction by invading Russians in 1795.
Lady of Siluva Siluva, Lithuania, 1608 Apparition of Mary reveals site of hidden painting; found undamaged in an underground chest.
Lady of Czestochowa (image) Czestochowa, Poland, ? Tradition says it was painted by St. Luke; horses refuse to move it from a certain place (twice); heretic dies while trying to disfigure it (slashes always reappear, even after being repaired); victory of 300 over 12,000 invading Swedes in 1655; it is black from age and smoke.
