Hail Mary

After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother
Jesus speaking from the Cross (John 19:27)
The Internet is full of information on the Blessed Virgin Mary...why the need for one more site? Aside from fulfilling the webmaster's call to spread devotion to the Blessed Virgin, this site will attempt to be a quick but thorough reference for Marian information which hopefully will be easy to access and logically presented. Additionally, links for more indepth information, both online and print, are contained in each subject area.

This directory will continue to grow, so join the mailing list to be updated on new features as they are added.

Apparitions
The apparitions and accompanying miracles of the Blessed Virgin throughout the ages testify to the validity of the Roman Catholic Church's teachings on the Mother of God and the specific messages given at each appearance. For those who doubt the reality of and role of the Blessed Virgin: "...though you will not believe me, believe the works..."(John 10:38).
Miraculous Images
The Blessed Virgin has revealed herself to many individuals and communities throughout history. This information is useful to travelers looking for shrines and for those looking for evidence that God blesses those who honor His Mother. At no time should it be inferred that any a statue or image has any power of its own (that would be idolatry). The images are simply a 'contact point' for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin.
Prayers and Devotions
Devotion to the Blessed Virgin began with the Archangel Gabriel's greeting "Hail, full of grace" at the Annunciation and has continued throughout the Church's history. Prayers addressed to Mary do not imply any divinity on her part (which would be the sin of superstition) but rather seek to take advantage of her role as the ultimate intercessor with her Son. Various prayers and devotions have developed over time.
Tests/Games
Memorare means 'to remember', and the tests and quizzes at this site are great ways of reinforcing knowledge of the faith. This section brings together those which focus on the Blessed Virgin. Answer sheets are also provided for easy reference (these are also designed to be printed and used for further study). Younger children will enjoy, and learn from, the slide puzzles and image matches.
