Commandments 8, 9 & 10

8 = Thou shalt not bear false witness
9 = Thou shalt not covet your neighbor's wife
10= Thou shalt not covet your neightbor's goods

This commandment forbids all willful thoughts and desires contrary to chastity.
The desire to obtain and keep that which belongs to others.
We should always speak the truth...lying is never acceptable.
We must keep a secret when we have promised, our office requires it, or the good of another demands it.
Rash judgement: believing something harmful to another's character without sufficient reason.
The fruit of continency (control of impure thoughts) helps us keep this commandment.
An unwelcome, unchaste thought is a temptation: prayer and fleeing are the best remedies.
Envying the success of others.
Slander: lying to injure the good name of another (calumny).
Breaking this commandment requires we work actively to undue the damage we caused.
