The Stations of the Cross

1. Make an act of contrition.  Ask for the 

indulgence.  Approach  the First Station.

2.  Say: ‘We adore Thee, O Christ, and 

we bless Thee.’  (genuflect on right knee)

 ‘Because by Thy holy cross Thou hast 

redeemed the world.’ (stand again) 

3. Meditate/read/pray on the Station’s theme.

4.  Say any combination of Our Father, 

Hail Mary, Glory Be.  Optional Stabat Mater 

verse when moving to a new station.

7.  Concluding prayer before the Altar 

(i.e. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be).  Amen.

 ~ Jesus falls the first time

 ~ Jesus greets His Holy Mother, Mary

 ~ Simon of Cyrene is forced to help Jesus 

 ~ Veronica wipes the face of Jesus

 ~ Jesus falls a second time

 ~ Jesus greets the holy women of Jerusalem

 ~ Jesus falls a third time

 ~ Jesus is stripped of His garments

 ~ Jesus is nailed to the cross

 ~ Jesus dies on the cross

 ~ Mary receives the body of Jesus 

 ~ Jesus is laid in the tomb
