Confirmation/Extreme Unction

1.  What is Confirmation? 

    The Sacrament by which we receive  the Holy Spirit, making us strong and  
      perfect Christians and soldiers of Christ. 

2.  Who administers  Confirmation? 

The Bishop who prays  that the Holy Spirit may  come down on the candidates. 

3.  What is chrism? 

    Oil and balm blessed by the Bishop on Holy Thursday symbolizing strength of soul. 

4.  What are the weapons of the confirmed? SPEG

 ~     Suffering and sacrifice 

 ~ Encouragement and prayer 

 ~ Good example 

5.  What are the chief Mysteries all should know? 

 ~       Unity and Trinity of God (our judge) 

 ~     Incarnation of Christ 

   ~   Passion and Death of Christ 

    ~  Resurrection of our Saviour 

6.  What is  Extreme Unction? 

    Prayer and anointing of the sick with holy oil when in danger of death by illness.  

7.  What are the effects the Anointing? 

 ~       Comfort and strengthening of the soul 

    ~  Restoration of health if God wills 

 ~    Remission of sin  (James 5:14,15)
